Running away from their past and their sins, Alice(Arquette) and
Pete(Getty) stop at a cabin in the desert where under the bright
headlights of the cadillac, they have sex one final time. But as
he finishes, Alice suddenly gets up and walks away. The music and
atmosphere set it as a symbolic passing into the next life, and
fatefully so because as she abandons him, her absence is not so
much missed, but welcomed like an unburdening of the soul.
